Product Description

From Sweet Flag Medicinals in Brattleboro, VT - Formulated by Justin Garner, Clinical Herbalist

A concentrated combination of immune tonics useful in supporting immune function. Elderberry has a long traditional use for the prevention and treatment of colds and flus. Modern research has found that it inhibits replication of viruses, including H1N1 influenza. Chaga is a fungus generally found on birch trees, especially yellow birch. It has been used extensively in Russia for the protection against colds and fevers and for the treatment of inoperable tumors. Modern studies have found chaga to contain a much higher concentration of antioxidants than other well known foods like blueberries and goji berries. It also boasts potent antiviral, anti-inflammatory, blood sugar lowering, and kidney protective properties. Echinacea angustifolia is well known for its immune boosting properties. Additionally, it stimulates lymphatic function and eases the pain of sore throats. As a preventative, ½-1 teaspoon daily. 2-3 teaspoons daily for enhanced support during times of weakened immune function

Clinical herbalist Justin Garner has been hooked on plants since the fourth grade. His childhood hobby of seeking out edible wild plants has transformed into a passion for working with the plants to bring healing to humans and animals. Formal education in organic and biochemistry, human anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, botany and clinical herbalism, in conjunction with his direct experiences with the plants themselves, allows him to gain a holistic perspective of his clients. He uses this perspective to educate his clients on herbal, dietary, and lifestyle changes that can aid them on their paths to health. He practices out of Sweet Flag Medicinals in Brattleboro, Vermont. Justin is also an avid edible and medicinal mushroom forager. He is available to lead mushroom forays particularly during the bountiful months of July, August, and September.
